The Royal Academy of Dance: Where Dedication Meets Distinction

At Intempo Dance, we believe that true artistry begins with a strong foundation — one built on discipline, creativity, and passion. That’s why we proudly follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, one of the most respected and internationally recognized ballet training systems in the world.
🌸 The Beauty of the Royal Academy of Dance SystemThe RAD method is more than just steps and technique — it’s a journey that nurtures confidence, musicality, and artistry. From the first plié to advanced pointe work, students learn not only how to move beautifully, but how to understand their bodies, interpret music, and perform with emotional depth.
Each level of training is carefully structured, combining technical precision with expressive performance. Students are encouraged to grow at their own pace while learning the values of patience, perseverance, and grace — both inside and outside the studio.
🩰 The Exam ExperienceRAD exams are a milestone moment for every dancer. Leading up to their evaluations, students undergo months of intensive preparation — refining every detail, from posture to presentation. Behind every polished performance is countless hours of practice, rehearsals, feedback sessions, and mentorship.
Our dancers train with commitment and joy, guided by our certified RAD faculty who hold decades of experience in shaping confident, capable, and expressive artists. The exam process itself is not a test of perfection, but a celebration of progress — a moment where dancers get to shine and showcase their growth before a qualified examiner.
🌟 A Year of DistinctionThis year, we are thrilled to share that Intempo Dance students achieved 13 Distinction Awards — the highest honor possible in the Royal Academy of Dance examination system. 🏅
Each distinction reflects not only technical excellence, but also artistry, musical sensitivity, and dedication to the craft. Our dancers poured their hearts into their training, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.
These results remind us that when passion meets preparation, extraordinary things happen. Every dancer, whether earning their first award or preparing for their next level, carries the same spark of determination and love for the art of ballet.
💫 Why It MattersParticipating in RAD exams builds far more than dance technique — it cultivates discipline, confidence, resilience, and self-expression. It teaches young artists that success is not instant, but earned through dedication and consistency.
At Intempo Dance, we celebrate every achievement, big or small, because each one represents growth, courage, and joy through movement.
To our incredible students: your passion inspires us daily. To our families: your support makes dreams possible. And to our community: thank you for believing in the power of dance.
Together, we continue to create art, excellence, and a legacy of movement that lasts a lifetime.

A Full-Circle Moment: Alessia Braggiato

Picture
This November, a truly special moment unfolded for the Intempo Dance family. Members of Intempo Dance Ensemble (IDE) traveled to Kansas City to watch our beloved alumna, Alessia Braggiato, take the stage with the Kansas City Ballet in their breathtaking production of Swan Lake. For those who know Alessia, her story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose — qualities that have defined her since her earliest days at Intempo. From her first plié in our studios to performing on one of the nation’s most prestigious stages, Alessia’s journey is a shining example of what dedication and heart can achieve.
Now in her second season with Kansas City Ballet, Alessia continues to grow as both an artist and professional, bringing emotional depth and exquisite technique to each role she performs. But this performance of Swan Lake held a special kind of magic. Not only was she dancing in one of ballet’s most beloved classics, but she did so surrounded — once again — by her Intempo family.
Our dancers from Intempo Dance Ensemble made the trip to Kansas City to cheer her on in person, filling the theater with love, excitement, and pride. Watching one of our own illuminate the stage in such a timeless masterpiece was more than just inspiring — it was a reminder of why we do what we do.
At Intempo, we believe in nurturing dancers not only as performers, but as people — guiding them to find their voice, their artistry, and their confidence to take flight beyond our studio walls. Seeing Alessia’s success, and watching our younger dancers witness it firsthand, was a powerful testament to the legacy of community, mentorship, and artistry that defines our school.
Moments like these are what make the Intempo journey so meaningful — when past and present meet on the same stage of inspiration. Alessia’s success is a reflection of every teacher, class, rehearsal, and dream that came before it — and a promise of the bright futures that await our dancers yet to come.
Congratulations, Alessia. Your wings have taken flight — and your Intempo family will always be cheering you on from every seat in the house.
